KEAP is Cornwall’s strategic organisation for the arts in education.  Our work now falls under two main strands; The Story Republic – projects & performances celebrating the place of story in Cornwall’s culture; and The Writers’ Block – a unique hub for creative writing where we champion the writer in everyone. Kresen Kernow is home to the world’s largest collection of documents, books, maps and photographs related to Cornwall’s history. Everyone is welcome to visit and explore these amazing collections. As well as 14 miles of shelving to store over 1.5 million of Cornwall’s treasured archives, the centre has exhibition spaces, learning rooms and a digitisation suite. Visitors can carry out research, pop in and browse, or take part in our varied activity programme. The Writers’ Block has collaborated with Kresen Kernow on a number of long-term projects and one-off events.

The Minack is a unique theatre perched on the cliffs high above the Atlantic ocean. They put on a full programme of drama, musicals and opera every summer, together with music, comedy and story-telling events. The Minack is also passionate about developing talent and is a key partner in our emerging writers programme.

Hall for Cornwall is Cornwall’s largest theatre,  their current £21.6 million development will reawaken the beauty and history of City Hall. Meanwhile, The Writers’ Block have been working with them on a small part of their Heritage project, bringing the history of Truro to life through work with schools and the local community.

ASONE is a partnership of music and arts organisations who work together to support quality musical learning for all children and young people in Cornwall.  The Hub has partnered with The Writers’ Block on a number of projects where music leaders have worked in schools alongside a writer.

The Writers’ Block delivers creative writing workshops for young people on the Game Changer programme, supporting them to improve writing and communication skills.
