Ideas from the Attic 2 – Day 3 – Landscape and Character Workshop

Date: 6th April 2019, Time: 10:30 am - 3:30 pm, Location: The Writers’ Block

Landscape and Character. Workshops of scenes, inspiration and atmosphere.

As part of the weekend of exploring ideas and where they come from writers Annamaria Murphy (Cornish playwright, poet and storyteller, Kneehigh and Radio 4 – Curious Under the Stars) and Wyl Menmuir (novelist and editor, longlisted for the 2016 Man Booker Prize), both masters of their craft, have teamed up to create a day long workshop in the inspiring Writers’ Block.

Using Bill Mitchell’s extraordinary attic and artefacts as a starting point the day will be filled with the writing and collaging of ideas, finding inspiration and deepening your fictional worlds. You will look at images and objects as ways into story and character, and explore how you might extend an idea into a poem, story, film or playscript. It will be a practical session involving lots of writing, so bring a hardback notebook you love to write in.
